Can Going to a Counsellor Help Me?

“Therapy made me aware of how I was feeling, and that it's OK!"

A question often asked is whether counselling can help. In fact, everyone can struggle sometimes. Often, with the support of family and friends, we start to feel better, calmer, happier, enthusiastic again, hopeful and empowered.

Sometimes though, this doesn’t happen. Sometimes we feel stuck and we still struggle. Sometimes it feels as though we have struggled all our lives. And sometimes, we feel we will always struggle. But Counselling can help you. Therapy is not a magic pill, but it can help individuals and couples through emotional struggles and difficulties. It can help you with:

  • Depression
  • Helplessness
  • Anxiety
  • Loneliness
  • Grief
  • Relationship issues

If you aged 18 or above and are struggling:

  • Through bereavement
  • Feeling bullied
  • Having relationship difficulties
  • Have been the victim of abuse or trauma

Counselling gives you the time and space to explore your difficulties and how they might have come about in a safe, non-judgmental, confidential environment.
